Paige Insurance Agency is one of the oldest independent insurance agencies in New Hampshire with ownership dating back to 1870. Historical records indicate that S.J. Kelly received an appointment from N.H. Fire Insurance Company on April 1, 1870 in Pittsfield. Several local families have maintained ownership since that period with the Paige family controlling the business from 1924 when the agency was known as Harriman, Freese and Paige.

Upon the retirement of third generation owner Gilbert Paige in 1986, Scott R. Brown purchased the agency and has overseen the modernization of the agency to the insurance standards of today. The Paige Agency prides itself on small town customer service while representing some of the finest insurance companies in the United States. Our longtime staff is committed to customer satisfaction. All our employees are well trained and committed to education through the Certified Insurance Counselors Program.

In an effort to provide even more service to our clients Paige began offering a complete range of Life and Health products in 2005. To support this new focus, Scott took on Eric Bahr as a partner in 2008. Eric also runs a Branch office of Lincoln Financial Securities out of our Pittsfield location. This is just one more example of Paige adapting to meet your changing needs.

Eric Bahr

Eric's background includes experience in both the financial and manufacturing fields. Eric graduated from the Fisher College of Business at The Ohio State University in 1987 with a Bachelor's Degree in Economics. In addition to working with different insurance companies and brokerages, Eric also spent time working for several plastics and chemical manufacturing companies. During that time, he earned an MBA from Southern New Hampshire University.

Eric is responsible for the Life, Health and Employee Benefit product lines. In addition he manages a Lincoln Financial Securities office from our Pittsfield location.

Eric is active in the Rotary Club and is also a member of the Pittsfield Chamber of Commerce. He is a past Chairman of the Pittsfield Planning Board and of the Pittsfield Economic Development Committee.

Scott Brown

Scott has been in the insurance business since graduating from the University of New Hampshire's Whittimore School of business in 1977. Travelers Insurance was the first stop out of college and proved to be a great training ground in all areas of underwriting and marketing, working with independent agents throughout New England. During this time, Scott went to night school to earn an MBA from Southern New Hampshire University.

After 10 years of company service in offices in New Hampshire and Massachusetts, Scott left the corporate world to purchase Paige Insurance Agency in 1986. Scott earned his Certified Insurance Counselor designation in 1988 and is licensed in several states for both property/casualty and life and health. Scott specializes in business insurance for our commercial clients in central New Hampshire.

Scott has lived in Pittsfield since 1988 with his wife Arlene and their three children. He is active in various community activities including the Pittsfield Rotary Club and Pittsfield Dollars for Scholars. He is past president of the Professional Insurance Agents of New Hampshire and past Chairman of the Pittsfield School Board. for several years.
